Re: OJ Simpson out on bail?
Remember it was tax evasion, not murder or conspiracy that brought Al Capone down. And the IRS loves to nail celebrites for tax evasion,,usually around tax time as a deterrent to others.
IIRC, bail is just to determine whether or not you are a flight risk. The judge took OJ's passport to prevent him from fleeing the jurisdiction. He probably feels that he 'beat the rap' for a murder charge times two so he'll beat this also. The difference is that this is NOT LA and the times are different. If the evidence is solid, he may residing in Harris County, NV for a long time. Somebody should tell him that the saying, "What goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas" is only an ad campaign and not to be taken seriously.
The most interesting part of his bail arrangements was that he is NOT to have any contact with his codefendants. Usually they can plan a joint strategy for the defense. This tells me that the prosecutors are hoping to make a deal with one of the codefendants to flip on OJ and testify agaisnt him like the Feds did ni the Michael Vick case......
