NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities have identified a fourth suspect in the execution-style killings of three college students in Newark last weekend, issuing an arrest warrant Saturday for 24-year-old Rodolfo Godinez.

Godinez, a Nicaraguan national who also uses the name Gomez, is considered "a principal player" in the case, Newark Police Director Garry McCarthy told The Star-Ledger of Newark.

Saturday's developments follow a shocking turn in the investigation Friday. On Friday, FOX 5 New York reported that two of the victims may have been sexually assaulted before they were killed by an illegal immigrant with a violent criminal history.

The suspect in the sexual assault, Peruvian national Jose Carranza, is an illegal immigrant previously charged with raping a 5-year-old. Carranza surrendered to Newark Mayor Cory Booker on Thursday and plead not guilty to to three counts of murder and one charge each of attempted murder and robbery in Essex County Superior Court on Friday.

This assault on 4 people has generated at least three threads, me thinks that you might want to be a tad more consistent and less inflammatory.. none of this is nice, but your framing of things as liberal vs. conservative, begs the issue. I the political rhetoric can be put aside for a minute or two, two things I do not understand:

1. There are reports that these alleged perps met in elementary school, didn't anyone notice.. and they were supposed employed, when questioned at arraignment Carranza said he did not know his SS#.. this guy fell through the cracks big time.

2. He had child rape charges pending and no one checked his immigration status, and why he was not held not only because he threatened the parents of the child.. but because, he had other felony charges pending, is a tad baffling.

Carranza was indicted by grand juries in New Jersey twice this year — in April on aggravated assault and weapons charges; and in July on 31 counts including aggravated sexual assault of a child and endangering the welfare of a child he had a duty to supervise.

He was released on $50,000 bail on the assault case, which stemmed from a barroom fight, and $150,000 bail on the sexual assault indictment, which charged that the abuse began in 2003 when the girl was 4 years old and continued to this year.

The prosecutor handling the fight case, Christopher Y. Iu, said the office did not check Carranza's immigration status. A prosecutor supervising the sex assault case, Mark S. Ali, said the office probably believed Carranza had legal immigration status because of his application for a court-appointed attorney. Carranza now has a private lawyer.

Frankly, it's people who share your views that are turning our country into a third world with rich vs. poor, black vs. white, immigrants vs. citizens. It's thanks to the liberals that we have as much freedom as we do. Conservatives of the past tried to block rights for women, gays, blacks, and others. Now, they're trying to stop any raesonable resolution to the illegal immigration problem.

We've been invaded. PERIOD. So, anyone want to discuss the benefits of an open border system, or uncontrolled, unregulated immigration?

The bottom line is that we have no clue who the fugg is in this country. Jails in other countries could be loading their criminals onto buses and dropping them off at our border. I've been saying it forever, immigration has to be legal, and it has to be controlled. Immigrants are not the problem, it's uncontrolled, undocumented, non-regulated immigration that's the problem.

Of course it needs to be better regulated and controlled than it is, but as far as what to do about the current problem, I think the righties are fools if they expect a better bill after the next election. Even if a Republican gets in, that Republican is not going to push an immigration bill that's more to your liking than the one Bush has proposed.

We all agree that something needs to be done. Immigration with amnesty is a sensible first step. And Republicans really ought to think of the demographics of the issue. They cannot afford to keep alienating people of color.
