I'll never understand what you righties have against private airplanes. The emissions are a fart in the wind relatively speaking and the operation of the airplanes brings a lot of well-paying jobs to regular people. Hate Al Gore all you want for flying I guess, but know that the guy who keeps his jet from dropping important stuff while enroute is exactly the sort of person y'all seem to champion. Someone who's well off enough to send multiple children through college with just a little suffering. What exactly do you have against him? Besides him there's pilots, ATC people and even the kid who lays out the red mat in front of the airplane's door on the weekends and after school. All those people's jobs are put at risk every time one of you spouts off on the gigantic carbon footprint associated with private jets.

The emissions from 1 of the private jets is more than the emissions of an average family for a year.

People don't want to be lectured/hectored about (alleged) GW by (elite) hypocrites who create more CO2 in a year than a whole village or 'ordinary people'.

That's why they make such easy targets. Personally I don't care how much they fly and how much energy they consume just don't lecture me.

No one is calling for reducing CO2 emissions at the expense of needed activities. Those who support Gore obviously regard his flying as a needed activity. Given that he is the key person in promoting the issue of global warming, his travel schedule must be intense, and his ability to travel in comfort and convenience probably allows him to travel more. The right-wing is trying to use Gore's "hypocrisy" to make it more difficult for him to reach such a wide audience.
