Default God Bless The Czech Republic..!!

Matt Drudge had a great link to an opinion piece here... Isn't it amazing how the people who used to live under the boot of oppression are the ones most likely to get it when it comes to the radical left's whacko-environmentalist's agenda...? I don't know who this guy is, I've never heard of him, but I gotta say what he say makes a lot of sense... Here are two snippets plus the link...

"As someone who lived under communism for most of his life, I feel obliged to say that I see the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity now in ambitious environmentalism, not in communism. This ideology wants to replace the free and spontaneous evolution of mankind by a sort of central (now global) planning."

"The issue of global warming is more about social than natural sciences and more about man and his freedom than about tenths of a degree Celsius changes in average global temperature." - Vaclav Klaus

From his curriculum vitae, quite simply he is an economist married to an economist, not sure how many economists agree with global warming.. but my guess is that this is not the warm and fuzzy liberal crew. Just because he said this does not mean a whole lot.

He obtained his university education at the University of Economics, Prague (majoring in the Foreign Trade Economics and graduating in 1963), and economics thus became his specialist field for his entire life. He took advantage of the relative liberalisation in the then Czechoslovakia in order to study in Italy (1966) and the USA (1969). As a research worker at the Institute of Economics of the Czech Academy of Sciences he completed his postgraduate scientific studies and in 1968 was awarded the title of app. PhD. in Economics.

Have you ever read Kyoto? I'd argue that's economic too.
