Since the members of the G8 apparently agree with the scientific community that climate change is a problem that needs to be adressed....I was wondering who out there is still buying into the "global warming is a myth" arguement?

German and American views had differed ahead of the summit
Leaders of the G8 nations have agreed to seek "substantial" cuts in emissions in an effort to tackle climate change.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the G8 would negotiate within a UN framework to seek a replacement for the Kyoto Protocol by the end of 2009.

Global warming is happening, but only a tiny percentage of it is man made. Therein lies the disagreement. Damn that sun.

From the research that I've done, I'm in agreement with this. The sun is in a 'hot cycle'. We won't know as much about Global Warming until this cycle ends and the next cooling trend happens. If it never comes, then I guess we're screwed.

I'm more inclined to think the warming we're experiencing is sun related also. I'm open to the idea that it might be man-made, but to date am not yet convinced. What scares me about this subject is the extremism of one side. When I see people hollaring and screaming that the world is coming to an end, I become skeptical. The doomsdayers and their "the debate is over" and "consensus" crap does this to me. Also, Kyoto was a socialist driven, redistrubution of wealth policy. Again though, I'm very open to hearing an honest debate.

The vast majority of "greenhouse gas" is water vapor. Carbon emmissions account for a very small amount, less than 1% if memory serves. We could make big changes to have a neligible effect but there's no real point. Meanwhile all the scientists who disagree with the Global Warming crows will continue to get shouted down in the media.

You're gonna have to count me in that count too, Diver.
That is, as not convinced humanity caused it or there is really anything
Humanity can do to stop it.
There is evidence of severe global climate change throughout the
millions of years of earth history that's been studied.
Without the help of humanity.

Belichickfan, I sure hope that number is well below 1%.
1% is quite a bit when you multiply it by globe.
I hope that's enough to dilute and not be a determining
factor for our climate.
