Blackwater Heavies Sue Families of Slain Employees for $10 Million in Brutal Attempt to Suppress Their Story

The following article is by the lawyers representing the families of four American contractors who worked for Blackwater and were killed in Fallujah. After Blackwater refused to share information about why they were killed, the families were told they would have to sue Blackwater to find out. Now Blackwater is trying to sue them for $10 million to keep them quiet.

Raleigh, NC -- The families of four American security contractors who were burned, beaten, dragged through the streets of Fallujah and their decapitated bodies hung from a bridge over the Euphrates River on March 31, 2004, are reaching out to the American public to help protect themselves against the very company their loved ones were serving when killed, Blackwater Security Consulting. After Blackwater lost a series of appeals all the away to the U.S. Supreme Court, Blackwater has now changed its tactics and is suing the dead men's estates for $10 million to silence the families and keep them out of court.

Back in the day when I was a kid, we had a couple of guys in the family who would "make things happen" to people who fu-ked with anyone in the family and they knew cops who knew about all this stuff. These guys were legendary in the family and still are. Back then, the cops wanted nothing to do with these family "issues" and that may have been the best way of dealing with creeps from outside who came in and took the girls for granted. We were always a quiet and respectful family, but very tight and VERY protective. I thought that was cool. Now there's too many lawyers and way too many rules from Big Brother.

There are constitutional issues in placing soldiers inside american cities. The National Guard can do it, but they take time to deploy for obvious reasons.

Real World

I'm not a fan of Blackwater. My issue with them is their lack of respect for the law. What they mainly provide to the US in IRaq is security & convoy protection. They must be held accountable for their transgressions. I don't have a problem with people hiring them for personal security. These guys are typicall ex-military, and ex-special forces. Again though, they must be held accountable for their misgivings, and to the best of my knowledge, and from all that I have read, they are not. This is tremendously bad for our cause on the ground there. You can try to win hearts and minds all you want with actual soldiers, but when these Rambo's start shooting up cars without regard, you can piss that good will away.
