Default Turkish troops cross Iraqi border

The war expands.

“Thousands of Turkish troops cross Iraq border to chase Kurd guerrillas,” the AP reports in a breaking news alert.

UPDATE: More details, including officials trying to play down the raid:
Several thousand Turkish troops crossed into northern Iraq early Wednesday to chase Kurdish guerrillas who operate from bases there, Turkish security officials told The Associated Press.

Two senior security officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media, said the raid was limited in scope and that it did not constitute the kind of large incursion that Turkish leaders have been discussing in recent weeks.

While every country has a right to protect its borders, this move does not bode well in the big scheme of things.. isn't Turkey an ally of ours??

yes, but it appears our sympathetic Kurds, feeling bolstered, are causing trouble again with the Turks.... as was predicted by Galloway and others...

another of the myriad of reasons why this invasion was doomed to fail from the start...

You know how stupid I am, whose side are they on, should I "Cheer" for the Turks, I like the Turks.

Ummmm.....

okay here goes the f-ed up logic of our administration once again! If Iran messes with Iraq at all, they are going to be bombed and invaded. The Turks send over a few thousand troops, and what? ..... nothing?

thats the thing abouit this 'my way or the highway' mentality of the bushies....you can't give blanket statements about the nations in the Middle East without having groundrules, and discussion with these people.

according to our current national stance in Iraq, Turkey should be bombed.

Oh the logic!
