Maybe it's true. It's awfully difficult to get a start if you have a family, no money, no possessions, and are living in a shelter. Clearly, the people in that situation either lack the intelligence, the skills, or the mental health to find a way out. It's not an uncommon problem. Anyone who's read about the Great Depression knows that poverty can lead to depression, which only makes matter worse. Perhaps Obama is drawing attention to a legitimate problem and a legitimate danger.

Yeah, it's more difficult. Fine. It's more difficult for a lot of people. Women in certain occupations, races, whatever. If that group just did their best they'd make it. Instead this particular race gets involved too much in gangs, blaming others, even laughing or being mentally or physically violent to those who dare to do well in school. How about the Vietnamese boat people ? Was it easy for them ? Or Mexicans running across the border ? By and large those people don't have the problems.

I FIRMLY believe that blacks are every bit intelligent enough to do great. But as a race they have to stop blaming Whitey and get on with it.
