I saw V for Vendetta last night, and boy was I glad I didn't waste the $3.99 to buy it "On-Demand" like I had originally intended to. Was it me, or was that movie just a tad "Blame America"? I was looking for the name Patters, or Maverick, etc... in the credits but surprisingly I didn't see any of them (kidding). I was almost certain that I'd see a couple of patsfans names but oh well. Did anyone in here see that waste of 130 minutes? If it wasn't for Natalie Portman's nipples shooting through her shirt in every other shot, I'd have switched to watch something else at the 15 minute mark. What kind of idoitic, politically driven, super ridiculous crap was that movie supposed to be about? It wasn't based on current events, or where they think we're headed was it? Nah.... My favorite is how terrorism was the fear that lead America to destroy the world, and how to save the planet (hehehe...) the freedom fighter in a mask with no eyes resorted to, well, terror. HA! What a stupid movie. I can't remember the last good movie I saw. Man I sure hope Pirates is good.
On a side note, it's eery how similarly Natalie Portman & pornstar Cytherea look.

Isn't it strange how their Hatred for Bush blinds those SCUMMY movie makers how they they love to blame America if some kid in timbucktwo falls out of a tree.
When the Muslims take over the first thing they will do is kill everybody in Hollywood.
Remember a few years back how all the bad guys in movies were always "Arabs" well those cowardly
f-cking bastards stopped that quick after 9/11, now the bad guys are "White Christians" they know the Methodists won't come looking for them and cut their rotten heads off.

lol... what a transparent effort to bait following your displeasure with an anti-establishment film ... very well, i'll play along...
apparently $118 million in ticket/rental sales and 72% positive ratings from all critics tends to paint a different picture than your pretentious diatribe... we can suppose you didn't enjoy 1984 nor Brazil either, for that matter... if you ever bothered to see such important pieces of cinema...
the film was fashioned after Alan Moore's graphic novel about BRITAIN from the early 80s... it's interesting that most critics, right AND left, panned the film for it being entirely british, with no real references to the police state that American is slowly becoming ... but, don't let that get in the way of your stretch... while not a perfect film, especially the end, it was utterly satisfying on a number of levels... the most pleasing being the depiction of Lewis Prothero, venomous yet cowardly propaganda minister for the government... we have a number of Prothero's right here in our little forum...
but the best part of the film was John Hurt's role as General Sutler... "Strength Through Unity! Unity Through Faith!"...

Did you see the movie or just compelled to comment cause you are supposed to?? I thought it was pretty good, it could be anti american on one level or just entertainment on another.

Funny you should ask. I downloaded this film via an FTP site about a year ago and tried to watch it several times, but could not get past the dark, foreboding, and ominous opening. It felt like a poor man's Hitchcoch mated with a very poor "Three Musketeers" rendition.
The dustoff came when this self-styled utterly pretentious little dork in the mask starts swishing around like he was different from all the trouble going on around him. Sure thing, dude; your smarmy mask grin tells it all.
At that point a telephone call took me away from the torture that was this flick -- happened *both* times I tried to watch it -- and I never got the urge to try again.

So little time so much dross to skip over.

Whoops, the man in the mask himself!! Why is it not surprising it took all of four minutes for you to come running.
So, wannabe V, how does the movie end? Does the V-man show up as a real lasting solution to the problem, or is he just another slightly better version of the problem he's all up in arms over?? How much better is the real V-man?? Is he better at all, or just out for some ego tripping ?

Hm-m-m... and then when they meet up again in the great beyond, how does he fare?? Livin' large or livin' with demons in his face, forever and ever and ever ??
Ever see the movie, "Constantine"?? How about "Flatliners", "What Dreams may Come", or "Ghost"??
