I saw V for Vendetta last night, and boy was I glad I didn't waste the $3.99 to buy it "On-Demand" like I had originally intended to. Was it me, or was that movie just a tad "Blame America"? I was looking for the name Patters, or Maverick, etc... in the credits but surprisingly I didn't see any of them (kidding). I was almost certain that I'd see a couple of patsfans names but oh well. Did anyone in here see that waste of 130 minutes? If it wasn't for Natalie Portman's nipples shooting through her shirt in every other shot, I'd have switched to watch something else at the 15 minute mark. What kind of idoitic, politically driven, super ridiculous crap was that movie supposed to be about? It wasn't based on current events, or where they think we're headed was it? Nah.... My favorite is how terrorism was the fear that lead America to destroy the world, and how to save the planet (hehehe...) the freedom fighter in a mask with no eyes resorted to, well, terror. HA! What a stupid movie. I can't remember the last good movie I saw. Man I sure hope Pirates is good.

On a side note, it's eery how similarly Natalie Portman & pornstar Cytherea look.

Portman

Cytherea

the one underneath didn't post.

Anyhow, I guess their citing America's civil war, and it's war on islam wasn't really referencing America. Basically, the story went something like "we're in this ******* mess because those crazy Americans destroyed the world, and forced us to be this way." Am I wrong here?
well...that's true though haha, but every bad trait america has learned, has come from their daddies the british.

america is just the retarded child of britain

I did not think, nor do I think that the term "Moonie" is on the same level as you describe above, have never heard of as a bad term.. if it is, which I doubt, I apologize. When we describe the freeloading panhandling Moonies in the airports, never heard that it was a derogatory term, in fact always thought of it as mainstream. Steve Hassam, the former Moonie, uses the term interchangeably on his website, "Freedom of Mind Center". Until proven otherwise, this term is what it is, a description of the cult to which you belong and what you do for a living. You need to stop coming to this forum, preaching and then when you are called on it playing the victim. Oh poor me, I am not a moonie, I just follow Father Moon blindly or I am just telling you how things are from a moonie point of view. Plain and simple you are full of crap, and your intent is obvious, do not know where the mods are, but you need to go to the religious forum.

So, now, instead of discussing the point of this thread -- a movie -- you have chosen to make it personal and about my religion. You dislike what I say simply because of my religion. You engage in false stereotypes and other lies in an attempt to try to make your "tar and feather" scheme work. You are indeed a poster boy for bigotry, prejudice, and hatred. The mods need to put a clamp on YOU far more than me.

I have discussed this thread consistently from the perspective of *other* mainstream movies, "Ghost", "Flatliners", etc. I have never once injected anything strange or untoward in this discussion. I have compared the theme of "vendetta" with the contrasting theme of peaceful reconciliation. It is YOU who have taken the ad hominem, personal insult, smearing pathway, all of which are *clear* violations of the published list standards:

"This is the forum to conduct political discussions, world events, etc. Please be respectful of the other posters and refrain from the use of profanity, personal attacks, etc."

The victim role does not play well with me, you posted something in this thread and I answered you. Your claim of adding or interjecting something strange into this discussion is a matter of debate, you need to reread your posts in this thread.. you are the one who delved into the "religious" aspect of this movie. As many time as I have tried to play the "White Album" backward, have never Paul is dead.. do not see the religious significance of this thread either, it is what it is entertainment.

I just did re-read all this thread since I made my last post. So I'm up to speed on that.

"Payback", a main theme of "V", is a rather generic idea, not anywhere near a parochial "religious" theme at all. Both religious and non-religious thinkers consider this point all the time. I brought up three -- count 'em THREE -- mainstream Hollywood movies to compare with "V", vis a vis the "payback" theme. Now, unless you are saying that those three movies, "Ghost" (Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg), "Flatliners" (Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, et. al.), and "What Dreams May Come" (Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding, Max Van Sandow, et. al.) are "proselytizing religion" in an extreme way, which is such a stretch you'd make a weight-lifter jealous, it appears you are only venting a personal vendetta against me because of my religion.

Bad boy.

No way, I loathe your attempt to place religion on this forum and veil it as politics.. there is no middle ground, either one way or the other. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the time. I know what you are trying to do and think it is completely innapropriate for this forum.
