Great picture making the rounds today in the newsmedia...
Conservatives will look at this picture and feel pride in being an American. Liberals will look at it and see nothing but white male aggression on display.

The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom of the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.
Life is a short, warm moment
And death is a long cold rest.
You get your chance to try in the twinkling of an eye:
Eighty years, with luck, or even less.
So all aboard for the American tour,
And maybe you'll make it to the top.
And mind how you go, and I can tell you, 'cause I know
You may find it hard to get off.
You are the angel of death
And I am the dead man's son.
And he was buried like a mole in a fox hole.
And everyone is still on the run.
And who is the master of fox hounds?
And who says the hunt has begun?
And who calls the tune in the courtroom?
And who beats the funeral drum?
The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom in the sickroom
And talk to yourself till you die.
No-one wants more war and death. Especially after the past few years. But only a fool thinks that we can just walk away from the middle east and everything will be great. I don't have a good answer on how to get those people to stop wanting to destroy the western world without massive destruction of us and them over there - and I'm guessing you don't either. But just burying our head in the sand isn't going to do it.
Just what we need is more saber rattling with Iran, if we do go in after them this will go for at least a decade and will morally and financially bankrupt this nation. This is not a liberal view it is a pacifist view, there is no need right now to do anything with Iran on a big scale. Bring back the old CIA, bring back mossad a few can do a lot.

BelichickFan, I agree it's a tight spot now. But do you really think escalating aggression is going to change their 'hearts and minds'? Over 600,000 Iraqis have died since 2003, mostly civilians. Escalating war will only unite Middle Easterners against us more, and may lead to WWIII.

Like I said, I don't have an answer. If we trusted them I'd be happy, very happy, to leave with our tails between our legs if we had a mutual promise to leave each other alone and keep the oil flowing.

We could all agree to convert to Islam. That would change their hearts and minds....maybe.
