I have many of same disagreements with their leaders as I have with ours, but that's the nature of a true democracy. As far as how France behaves, like us, it does what's in its own self interest even when doing so is not ethical. We won't cut off our oil supply to get back at the Saudia or Venezualans anymore than France would have supported the war against one of its key suppliers, Iraq.
I think you should rephrase your statement to say America is the most French country in North America. We're quickly becoming a socialist welfare state like France is, if we haven't already.

I love our country and strongly disagree with you. You obviously mean social welfare in a negative way, but our government reflects the values of its people, and in general we want to find ways to help the poor and needy, to give people chances in life, to treat people equally, to reward hard work, etc. Overall, we do a great job, but there's always more that can be done. As long as we have our freedom and as long as our people are caring and charitable, we will remain a great country, even if we do even more to help the needy.

Liberalism is dishonest because they think they are "The Way And The Truth" if you question them or disagree with them then that is when the HATE shows up.

Watch Rosie O'Donnells, Al Frankens, Alec Baldwins, Uncle Teddy's, Crazy Gore and John Fonda Kerry's faces when they talk, they are filled with hate and rage, they can't believe anybody would dare to disagree with them.

It's ironic that France has proven to be right.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........

You loons and the welfare state. There is PLENTY of money being spent on welfare in this country. The problem is that we're lucky if we're getting a 40% return on investment (and I mean real lucky). My issue is not with social programs existing, my issue, being a fiscal conservative, is with the magnitude and waste of such programs. Now, for me, you can remove the words social programs, and insert any government program or entity, and apply my same statement. Be it defense, education, foreign aid, etc... we spend plenty on each, if not too much, with the problem being their gross inefficiency.
