He would have been much better off renting out space in the original building and he'll be the first to tell you that. He had to rebuild because he was still liable for the lease of the land where WTC7 stood. Comitting insurance fraud by demolishing a building, continue paying the lease on the land, then building a new building in which the insurance costs don't come close to covering the costs (and we're talking $billions) is not a winning formula, even if the new rents are more than the old building could gather.

BTW it wasn't a crime scene it was the site of an act of war, a battle in the WOT. Pearl Harbor wasn't a 'crime' scene.

Easy, Different Enemy different strategy and Tatics. The enemy can't win militarily, but they can win by sapping the will of their opponent and exploting the political cowardice of some of the politicans in their opponents country.

Yopu can't fight an asymetrical war using the tatics and strategies of the traditional conflict between nation states of 60 years ago.

Just like Viet Nam, right? There, I said it for you. I disagree, though.

There is no war going on right now. This is a friggin joke the way we're randomly executing this "war". A war implies that we have been attacked by an enemy and we respond in kind and then some by retaliating and vanquishing that enemy, in the process, protecting the homeland from further threat. You can call it something else, but this bears no resemblance to "Pearl Harbor", Ardennes Forest, Midway or North Africa. At this point, this has nothing to do with defeating international Islamic terrorists from the Middle East. It has everything to do with salvaging the pathetic reputation of a hollow presidency by zigging and zagging through their mish-mash of "foreign policy" that develops on-the-fly with no central mission except that of failure. It is being conducted with the help of comparisons to Nam and WWII to garner the support of those who remember the past wars, but bears little resemblance to them.
