I had been reading where the truck driver was found, who had been in this accident with the N.J. Gov. My first reaction, was that he was in a world of trouble, as it seemed from all the news that the truck driver was somehow responsible. Then, I read this headline, 91 miles per hour to attend a meeting, a meeting, not a riot, not a double homicide, or some tragic event which needed his immediate attention. But wait, it appears the driver still could be in trouble, even tho he evidently tried to get out of the way, he could still be charged if they determine it could have been preventable. Yea, could have been preventable all right. How about if the Gov. backed it down to maybe 75-80 and buckled up. I'll be really interested if, they charge the truck driver and not the Governor.

I read they're probably not going to charge the driver who supposedly forced another car to swerve into the governor's car. The driver of the first car is apparently mentally slow, was on his way to work, and had no idea he caused an accdient. The governor should be charged with not wearing a seatbelt, but then again I think he got punishment enough. As far as speeding, well Jersey drivers are even worse than Massachusetts drivers, and that's saying something!

I'm glad the Staties aren't closing ranks around their guy. I think its safe to say the guy driving the governor around developed a solid reputation over many years to earn a job of that stature and it must have been hard to admit their guy was going that fast to get to a meeting to resolve the pressing issues arising from using the term 'nappy headed hos.' Keep in mind that there's no such thing as a cop who's never, ever used his lights & siren inappropriately. I don't think anyone should be charged. Everyone should just be glad there's no funerals to attend.

Corzine was involved in breaking 2 laws. Speeding 36mph over the speed limit and not wearing a seat belt, he should get tickets for both (he was in control of how fast the State Trooper was driving).
My guess is that he will cited for neither. This is NJ do as I say not as I do.

I find the whole thing interesting as he was going to the meeting between Imus and the girls he offended.. looks like a photo op to me... too bad he was in such a rush.

The gov was abusing his authority. He was endangering other people all because he was on his way to a meeting. So does this mean I can drive 91 mph, not wear my seatbelt, and blame other people the next time my Fantasy League meets?

BTW, know how I always talk about the explosion of book deals these days? Well, guess who just got one? These people are shameless I'll tell ya. Stringer set to pen her life's dramas Tuesday, April 17, 2007 BY MATTHEW FUTTERMAN Star-Ledger Staff Rutgers women's basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer earned countless fans last week when she stood up to radio shock jock Don Imus. She also earned a book deal. Stringer will write her autobiography for Crown, a division of Random House, which plans to publish the book next spring. "It's about an incredible woman with an extraordinary life story," said Tina Constable, executive vice president for publicity at Crown, who declined to say how much the company will pay Stringer. "She's a pioneer, a legend, an icon and a role model." Stringer's agent, Laurie Bernstein, finalized the deal Friday, at the end of a week that saw Stringer morph from a top women's basketball coach into a national figure in the face of Imus' racial and sexist comment about her team, for which he later apologized. http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/inde...690.xml&coll=1

Violins will be in abundance for Corzine, and his 91 mph non-emergency jaunt will be swept under the rug. After all, they got the "REAL" bad guy: it was Imus (now being called a "conservative" even though he showcased every liberal TV and media personaility he could find to go on his show). In the end Corzine will be played as the "victim", just like Teddy Kennedy was when he killed Mary Jo Kopechne: "the bridge was too narrow on a dark and misty night" and Uncle Teddy just couldn't help himself.Yup. Corzine will skate. It's liberal time in the U.S. again. Say goodbye to sanity. // |
