(1) and (2) are fair enough, but then they have the audacity to:

Yeah that makes sense
Does it make as much sense as this quote???

There is plenty of evidence to suggest that lowering taxes (i.e. lowering the tax rate) results in increased revenue for the government.

Conservatives see taxes as a tool for generating revenue for the government
This COULD Save the White House for (R)

Nice one QG!!!

Ooh, that's really evil of Democrats trying to raise the minimum wage so that hard working people earn more than $10k/year.

True, Republicans like loopholes for the wealthy. We agree.

Actually, we also blame Clinton who favored corporate globalization.

I don't really care whether lowering taxes increases or decreases revenue. If tax rates are kept the same revenues always go up over time because the economy grows; bigger economy equals bigger tax base equal more revenue. Sure, in a recession the economy shrinks but that's always just a short term issue.

That's the increase they get. Can't get by with it ? Sucks for them. Make your spending fit. The government gets a good increase every year with no increase in tax rates. They will never get my support to additionally increase the rate.

On a parallel thread, we all ***** about the taxes and who gets breaks, while we are passing on huge federal debt to our children and grandchildren.. no matter how you cut it the divide is getting wider. To frame it as lazy people on the bottom and smart people on the top begs the issue, education, equal access to opportunity and other issues mask the real issues here. Economic opportunity for all is a misnomer, and just more verbal pablum for the people.

As I have said, over time revenues are always going up (like with the stock market, there's occasional dips but the trend line is always up) - it's not a tax rate issue, revenues go up without that - it's a spending issue.

Please point out the lack of logic in my quote. You yourself apparently acknowledged some sort of familiarity with the Laffer Curve, and yet I see no evidence that you actually know what it is or else you would understand my post.

Another liberal talking point... Fact is there aren't many people out there who aren't high schoolers making minimum wage. But hey, I got no problem with you and your unions... just don't blame Republicans when Ford and GM send all their plants to Mexico, deal..?

And so do smart democrats (yeah, I know, that's an oxymoron). But it's amazing how democrats suddenly turn into Republicans when they are trying to attract or retain business and jobs in their state.

Last time I checked republicans have controlled Congress for the prior 12 years. Care to point out how much offshoring has occurred during this time?

Yeah, right...like Mass and California are hurting for high tech high wage jobs while the bible belt cant fill their tech industries fast enough.

You are a riot QG. Use the force.

Dumbass

It entirely a spending issue. No one in government has been aco****able for 50+ years. Why would anyone be, it's not there money. Spending the tax payers cash to make specific voters happy gets them re-elected.
