Actually he should. The first chart is not an apples to apples comparison across recessions since it starts at 1948 and this one is by far the most severe since the Great Depression and that's where you should be making comparisons. Remember that after the Great Depression acts like Glass Steagall dramatically reduced the depth of recessions and the period from after WWII to around the early 90s (thanks Ronald and Bush!) was fairly stable as a result, so it's really cherry picked data and not really useful at all. The second one is also not an apples to apples comparison, is a small sample, and confuses correlation with causation. A dishonest and stupid researcher puts something like that together, and a simplistic partisan like PF13 repeats it without thinking about it. Funny how that works. You can throw those graphs out the window, they're nonsense. But surely a gifted economist such as yourself is smart enough to figure this out on your own. Right? Right? Oh, wait.
