Thumbs up Pew Poll: America trending Democratic; economic and social conservatism on decline

50% of nation consider themselves Democratic or lean towards the Democratic Party

35% consider themselves Republican or lean towards the Republican Party

Economic and social conservatism is on the decline...

This is very good news. The "conservative movement" is truly dead.

Yeah, really great news. More and more people think the government should provide for the citizens, fewer and fewer people considering marriage to be an important institution and less and less people of faith in the country.

All those tenets worked so great for the USSR

Well since America is doomed, what about moving to Canada?

Canada's ever worse.... no, if I were to ever emigrate it would be to a country where you can say "Merry Christmas" without getting arrested and the people actually speak English.

and... what a surprise!... the two parties passed eachother in different directions right around the time Boy King and his henchmen started publicly making up reasons to rape a sovereign nation...

I'm starting to wonder if it's a natural evolution of societies to ruin themselves this way. More people see government as a way to get theirs, get something for nothing. Why work ?

It's basically the problem I have with illegal immigration combined with the growing welfare state. Either one, by itself, is probably a small, maybe a non, factor. But combine them and you have a country that will collapse all over itself.

For me, I don't give a crap. I'm 40; I have saved money, I'll be fine. My kids and their kids - that's a grave concern.

On the 3rd grade field trip I was on with my son today, btw, there was a class whose teacher spoke only (in the time I saw them) in Spanish. Nice. What do you think the odds of those kids needing government assistance are compared to the odds of the kids in my kids' class with (shock) a teacher speaking in English.

Now that I actually looked at your links, that's a ridiculous conclusion. The Democrats are on the upswing on normal, cyclic patterns. Nothing else can be drawn from these charts, especially the supposed death of Conservatives.
