The end justifies the means then...is that in your belief set? I'm surprised. That leaves a lot of morality doors open, including the value of the group over the individual...or the majority over the minority.... Interesting.
What else can one do in a capitalist society? When it comes to investing, the end certainly justifies the means. In fact, one strategy used by progressives is to invest in companies they oppose so they can attend annual meetings and voice their displeasure. If there was an organized boycott against Halliburton and the like, I would expect progressives to divest. Otherwise, divesting has no impact on the company, so what would be the point? I would think with just about every investor you can find plenty of examples of this type of hypocrisy, but if you're going to generate wealth off the system, you have to play by its rules.

More hypocrisies from the Global warming cheerleaders:
That's why "Inconvenient Truth" producer Laurie David can boast on the movie Website that she is "committed to stopping global warming," denounce people who drive SUVs -- and still fly in private Gulfstream jets. (Having been blasted in the press for her high-flying ways, David told ABC last year that she was cutting back on her private-plane travel. Talk about commitment.)
But the real issue is that the most effective spokesman for global warming apparently doesn't think he has to show personal leadership on his signature issue by curbing his energy consumption. The same goes for Feinstein and Schwarzenegger, who are happy to push for laws that make other people cut their emissions, but are far too affluent to cut back themselves.
"Some guys play in all-star games, some guys don't. I don't know who picks all those all-star teams. In all honesty, I don't know who picks the combine, for that matter," Belichick said. "How does (Miami-Ohio offensive lineman Brandon) Brooks not get invited to the combine? How did Vollmer not get invited to the combine? I don't know. We can't really worry about that. We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
