Um...are you new to this country? You don't know the man apparently. He once said he would have to "work in the shadows..." "...the DARK SIDE, if you will"
Thats why theres a documentary on him called THE DARK SIDE.
Its astounding how little the supposed Bush voters understand about his administration.
i'll be willing to bet there's not a single staunch Bush Leaguer here who's actually sat and watched all six parts of Frontline's excellent "The Dark Side" program... anyone with the courage and integrity, here it is...

See kid in Afghanistan the tali's are busy humpin goats and beating their wives during the winter. Due to the terrian and weather they don't come out till the spring. The news orgs love to tout the US is losing stories for the rubes who don't know much.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

well, that's a little bit better... but neither of those links are stories from Newsweek... or, are you lumping in Fox News with the mainstream media's liberal bias now? lol...
might wanna do a bit more reading about the state of things there... coalition forces there are undoubtedly losing ground... perhaps, you know, if your heroes in office didn't opt to redeploy to Iraq, then all the progress the coalition made there in late 01-early 02 wouldn't be in profound danger...
Hard-core Taliban forces have filled the void by infiltrating from the relatively lawless tribal areas of Pakistan where they had fled at the end of 2001.
They're not losing ground you terd. I read about htis crap everyday, and I don't read the MSM only to get my news. These losers are in Pakistan and Kashmir. Why? Cuz they lost their footing in Afghanistan. These jokers can't fight us straight up, and their "spring offensive" is going to be centered on suicide bombings, and attacks on schools. Sure sounds like we're losing ground eh? You people are so partisan it's sad. Why can't you be remotely objective? Again, there are more soldiers in Afghanistan today than there were in 2001 or 2002. Did going to war in Iraq take away from the cause in Afghanistan? Common sense would say yes. Does it mean we can't do both? No. I'd have keyed on Afghanistan and passed on Iraq, but we didn't. Again, we faught on two fronts in past wars, and it's not as if we can't handle fighting two now. Obviously fighting one would mean an increased efficiency, but it doesn't mean inefficiency in fighting two.

The enemy is desperate. I hope so. Unfortunately, even a cursory look at history tells you that people of this region are more than willing to wage war for hundreds of years.
Now, spin doctor, you could say its a sign of desparation. The council on foreign relations probably has a more unbiased opinion. and this from a year ago...
Again, I really don't understand how more fighting = us losing. Is Afghanistan in any danger of returning to Taliban rule? Seriously, it's surprising how doomsday you're trying to be with this. It's completely unwarranted. If you wanted to discuss a resurgence in violance, go right ahead, let's do that. To makethe claim that we are losing is propostrous. Sorry.

Another sip of the koolaid and we'll all be booking flights to see the new, reconstructed, peaceful Afghanistan. Tour their beautiful mountains, cozy up and have tea with the locals, maybe even a toke of their homegrown opium. Its all sugarplums and fairy tales in Bushland.
Afghanistan: The second war that Bush cut and ran from, other than Vietnam of course.
I don't remember anyone saying life there was roses. I can guarantee you it is better than it was under the Taliban.

lol... what a joke... at what point did anyone here suggest we weren't vastly superior in a traditional fire fight? at what point do you acknowledge that "losing" has little to do with body count, battle lines or kill ratio? ... i mean, you usually seem smarter than that, but then other times you keep us guessing...
the trail on bin Laden has gone completely cold, the opium production has reached record levels, and insurgent attacks are up 400 percent from Dec. 06 compared to Dec. 05. ... meanwhile, our "administration" has put absolutely zero real pressure on Pakistan to deal with Taliban presense in the northwest of that country... if you refuse to admit the Taliban is not growing stronger by the day, please, if you're able to do anything, document for us all the "progress" we are making in that region in terms of military tactical maneuvers...
Afghanistan needs a renewed commitment by the United States and NATO. The Taliban is growing stronger every day, fed by increased cash flows from the opium trade, Arab donors in the Persian Gulf, and a safe harbor in Pakistan. Insurgents have imported tactics from the Iraq war, such as roadside bombings and suicide bombings, into the Afghan theater. Yet with increased troop levels, equipment, and diplomacy, it is possible to bring stability back to the region.
But Afghanistan will likely continue to suffer as long as the United States sticks to its current strategy in Iraq. The United States spends up to $8 billion a month in Iraq and is stretching U.S. ground troops in Iraq to the breaking point. The Bush administration has continuously diverted crucial resources and forces from Afghanistan to Iraq, allowing the Taliban and terrorist groups to recover from the invasion five years ago, regroup, and now go on the attack.

More objective analysis on your part. You'd think that the week off from school would have helped you somewhat.
