Let me pose this question, if Michael Vick were white, how would he be treated? Exactly the same, better, or worse?
As for McNabb, I actually think he's a pretty good QB. I can see some, stress some, validity to the position that he might be less criticized because of this color. I think people want to see black QB's succeed, just as they want to see bacl coaches and GM, etc...succeed. Some might be less critical of them because of that, and also because they may not want to seem racist by offering criticism. When you listen to the radio, and people criticize Vick, you always get some callers who think the criticism is racially driven. Again, I'm not saying this is the case, I'm just saying I see some validitiy in someone holding such a position.
What I can't figure out is how McNabb made the cut for Cambell's Soup when all he does in crunchtime is hurl chunks

Well, you're exaggerating. Limbaugh didn't say "every football fan, pro bowl voter and news commentator." Without naming names, he was talking about the mainstream sports media in general. For example, Chris Collinsworth comes to mind. I cannot imagine how he could be any more obsequious when discussing McNabb.
Or Manning, or any cute, white 1st year QB who hasn't yet proven anything......
Because the media are idiots doesn't make them reverse racists. sometomes what one sees is the phenomenon of projecting. Limabaugh sees them overrating a QB because he's black because that is what is in Limbaugh's mind.
He ignore's them overrating inexperienced, flashy or cute white QBs because that doesn't fulfill his paradigm.
I think most NFL observers consider him one of the best quarterbcks. He's had teams that were competitive, he had Pinkston as one of his primary receivers, he's never had a great running game.
If he were to be overrated, he'd need to be rated ahead of Manning or Brady so rating him anywhere int the 3rd threw tenth would be a judgement call rather than overrating.
Remember, we're not talking about Michael Vick. This is as silly as saying Larry Bird was overrated because he was white.
I tried to think about that, but my brain really started to hurt.
So you're saying that since every football fan, pro bowl voter and news commentator is really a closet reverse racist because they think donovan McNabb is a good quarterback only because he's black, (but they don't realize it), that it's everyone in the world beside Limbaugh who is really racist while he analyzes McNabb's relative ability objectively.
The 'everyone' in my statement referred to everyone who thought McNabb was an elite Quarterback, not everyone in general. Sorry about the confusion. I don't believe race played a factor at all. It was his skill-set(IE great at avoiding the rush, so so with throwing the ball), and people's perception of that skill-set's value that skewed things in his favor IMO.
