I don't get the gay pride marches either. I get the gay part, but the pride is missing.

The thing is, the flamboyant, in your face gays don't speak for all of them.

Just like the Democrats don't speak for all liberals and the Republicans don't speak for all conservatives.

The "in-your-face" crowd are the shock troops of the homosexual movement. They are the ones out front, while the rest are quietly behind the scenes, like the communist party bosses used to hide behind their party hack workers and big May Day parades.

The only problem with your analogy is that there isn't a single, organized movement (and if there was, what would be their goal, to make us all gay?)

There's no Gay Party (except for the Democrats, har har), there's no one pulling gay people's strings and making them do their bidding. There are groups of like-minded people with similar goals (like legalizing gay marriage), but there isn't an Orwellian gay movement. And if there is, then none of my gay friends were included.

It's exactly like that. From far enough away, all people different enough from you look the same. For the closed-minded, there is a class of people - say Mexicans or gays - and if you belong to that class, you have the same traits as everyone else in that class. Mexicans are all lazy and just want to come here to live off of welfare. Homosexuals all want... actually, I don't even know what they're accused of, but there's always people making references to a singular "homosexual agenda".

The truth is, there are different Mexicans and there are different gays. There are good and there are bad. They disagree among themselves, and they may be more different from each other than they are from you (a lot of the conservatives on this board probably agree with a Log Cabin Republican on more issues than they do with a straight liberal Democrat).

For the love of God people, don't believe what Bill O'Reilly tells you: there is no culture war.

Well, there's more organization than you might imagine. As to motivation and purpose, it's like any other group in the world: they want to secure more power and prestige for themselves, even at the expense of everyone else.

No, no. Very different. No similarities at all. "Mexicans" or any other ethnic group is a natural occurrence; "gays" must chose their lifestyle. In spite of what we've been propagandized with for several decades now, people are NOT "born gay". God does not make a yang and a yin, and then throw curve-balls in to make a yang-who-is-yin or a yin-who-is-yang. No, it's either one or the other. Not one who really is the other. Doesn't happen. People who become homosexually active do so because they are chose it, and the vast majority are seduced into the lifestyle, plain and simple.

I know some people are going to try to say otherwise -- simply because our religious and educational institutions have failed us and this behavior has been tolerated for far too long -- but as I said earlier, I don't make the rules I just try to explain them.

Believe it or not, my goal here is NOT to offend anybody. I want to be liked and loved as much as anybody does, but I won't do or say things to be liked or loved if it means lying to you.

So, bombs away everybody. I'm ready.

Also, I'm considering turning gay, simply for the fact that so many people are choosing it despite being disowned by their family, ostracized by society, discriminated against by the government, prohibited from marrying and sharing health benefits, and potentially being tied to a fencepost and beaten to death because they happen to be attracted to the same sex.

Even with all that against them, still they choose to be gay...the sex must be unbelievable. Sounds good to me!

And though you make light of the way "gays" are treated, they have their own "support groups".

I wasn't saying anything about what the NEJOM has previously published; I was saying how interested they would be that you've proven scientifically that gay people choose that lifestyle. You should be recognized for your monumental research, and I bet they would want first dibs.

As for your contention that gay people choose to be gay, and that they are seduced into it: could you see yourself being seduced to the homosexual lifestyle?
