Default We are all born equal.

Why is it that we, as americans, eat more then any other country - from person to person, we are richer then most... we have all of these luxeries - but people in Rwanda suffer? People in Iraq, afghanistan, africa, middle east, china, europe, south america... even america? even our own people suffor while the big buisness people roll in the dough and the corperate leaders have all the money. we are expendable

Why is it that someone has to sit at home at eat a raw onion for lunch because they are too poor to afford anything else? Why is it that people who inheriet big oil companies don't have to do ***** and they live great, happy lives? Why is it that actors have giant houses, while teachers have nothing?

Why is it that policemen make less per year then computer personel?

Why is it that people in our country can go around saying how bad things are, how we are not treated equal, yadda yadda, when in reality we are the best country.... we are free. We have food, shelter, water (most of us at least)...

Why can't we all just be equal?

Sorry - just rambling. Life sucks, then you die. Unless of course, you have some money - they say money can't bring you happyness ... well, it sure did bring america to the top.

We as a nation skew the american dream. We believe that what you earn is YOURS and you have the right to keep it. Fair enough, right? There is no law that says 'share' (outside of grade K). Thus we hold celebrity and wealth as the highest honor. Our nation is lead by greedy self serving flatterers, and that trickles down.

I saw an interesting poll of our youth, it asked what they wanted to be when they grew up. The answer, by an overwhelming majority, was......

Famous

by not educating the next generation, we are screwing ours.

Life's unfair. Fine. Whatever. Just make the best you can of what you were or weren't born into. The world doesn't owe you anything.

Whoever said life was fair?

Its not the lucky breaks that people (or certain football teams get) its what you make of them.

The world owes several people everything. Does it owe me anything? No - not a damn thing.

But some people in poorer countries deserve more.

Why do some people in poorer countries deserve more than poor people in this country or in Canada, France or Germany?

I'm not following your logic.

I never said poorer people in this country don't deserve anything either, I was just useing the other countries as an example; should of said that.

No they don't. It could be said that most people in the U.S. are born with more than they "deserve" but everyone is born with "life" and that's all they deserve.

This is where the line of idealism vs realism becomes clouded. Nobody likes to see anyone suffer through poverty and destitution but what exactly do you do about it and where do you draw the line as far as whats destitute and whats not?
