No. Naked Gun. Leslie Nielsons' character as Lt. Frank Drebin is getting a verbal reeming from the Mayor. It went something like this...
Mayor- You're always flying off the handle and overreacting, like that time in the park.
Drebin-Yeah! Well when I see a guy getting stabbed by a group freaks dressed in togas, I take action.
Mayor- Those "freaks" were actors and they were performing Julius Caesar you idiot!
Anyways, I thought it was funny how that scenerio was used as an example..
"I'm still wondering whether you protest outside of plays because *gasp*, someone stabbed Julius Ceasar, and that's MURDER. Those actors should be arrested at once."
I'm not trying to hi jack the thread so let me just state that I believe in freedom of speech.
But Hollywood is always trying to make their movies to be as real as possible. The more believable the plots and actors the better. It gets crazy.
You want to make a fight scene look real you get actors and stuntman who are willing to take the beating. You want the battle scene to look real, use real ordinance. You want the romance to look real, show them naked and having sex.
I haven't seen this movie so I can't say what they made the kid do.
I don't know if what the kid has been put through will have any bearing on her happiness in the future.
But if it is something that could harm the kids future, it wouldn't be the first time Hollywood has done it.

Thanks for the reference. Yeah, I think I did see that movie once upon a time, a long time ago.
But the "reality" thing -- I've heard it said that even our thoughts stay with us forever. So, if this kid is even thinking about getting raped, at her tender age, it can't be doing her any good. Think of the prospects of her marriage with that sitting in the back of her mind. Even deep storage is not enough.
It's gone too far. We need to emphasize the positives in life, not keep digging deeper into the horrors. What an unnecessary bummer.

I don't buy it, children aren't as fragile as we make them out to be. By 12, they know what sex is, they know what violence is, and they have put the two together to know what rape is. One thing's for sure: her life won't be negatively affected from shooting this movie.

You cannot say it's "for sure". You do not know what effect this might have on her. It's after the fact now, since she's already done it, but she's already out flogging this flick. She says "everybody should go see it." Is that her mature mind speaking or the dollar signs?? I say it's the latter.
Look at Jody Foster: she's a good actress, but what about her family life (?). Does she have one? I've never heard of her getting married, settling down, raising a family with a husband.

Yeah, I know, I'm "old-fashioned".

why does it matter what Jodi Foster's family life is like?

If you're talking about the dangers of fame and money and all that ideal stuff, that's fine, but society has no right to overrule her legal guardians on how they raise her. Now if you're talking about abuse to the point where society has a right to step in to defend a child, this isn't that kind of case.

I could be wrong, but from what she's said iit sounds like she's mature and understands what acting is, what rape is, and what the difference between them is.
