I don't like the character he plays (and he admitted a lot of it is an act, to which Colbert said "But if you're an act, what does that make me?"). He doesn't seem to be a dummy, but he's found his niche (throwing meat to angry conservatives, yelling "Shaddup!" and cutting off the mic when he disagrees with someone) and he's made a lot of money from his shtick.
