This is comical. What a Banana State in a Banana Republic. So now, we are going to count illegals, who can't vote mind you, for political purposes, so we can save a house seat. Doing this of course would bypass the due punishment we should recieve for our states failure to keep people here in the first place. Accountability people! Total joke. What's funny is they'll surely only count as many as is required to save the seat. They won't tell you there are half a million illegals here sucking on social services, which help bleed the state dry. Maybe if our politicians worried more about fiscal sanity, and less about hand outs, people wouldn't leave in the first place. Afterall, this state is one of the most expensive to live in inside the country. Nice going frauds. Keep raising taxes and fees you losers.
Stand up and be counted

Bay State officials seeking to save a coveted congressional seat are turning for help to residents who can’t even vote: illegal immigrants.
A census of the often-maligned underground residents - who face constant calls for their deportation - could be critical to reaching a population total that could preserve the seat.
“We need to chase them,” Secretary of State William Galvin said yesterday, stressing the need for an “all local” hunt for everyone living here.
Crucial to the census success: Convincing the estimated 150,000 to 200,000 illegal immigrants that they will simply be counted, not arrested.

You are 100% correct. NO good can come of this lazy man's way to deal with the problem. People have thrown away all their history books on what happened to Rome and other great civilizations: death from within.
What the U.S. needs to do is to start a new version of the "Peace Corps", but instead of just building a little school or library or hospital here and there, we need to make major investments of skilled personnel and long-term loans to create modern infrastructure in under-developed countries.
Of course, along with that, we need to export a much higher standard of morality than Madonna, Britney, Rosie O'Donnell, Hugh Hefner, and "Queer Nation". A strong moral fabric is the foundation for ANY nation's strength and well-being; without it you only get flashy diamonds, drugs, and Bentleys all pimped out. Hardly the stuff of a well-grounded society.

Hillary wants all the felons in prison to be able to vote, they want the Illegal Alien Criminals and the Convicted Felons because they know they're all Democrats.

Yes we must fight against anything that might take power away from the good folks who gave us George Bush. Removing one Rep from the Mass delegation is the only way to be certain to keep this un-moral nation on the road that our great decider has placed us on. God speaks to him and people who live in the bible belt. MA really should have no voice at all. God never talks to any of us.
Re: Mass. Pols want Illegals to Count for Politics
The Republicans already engineered that criminals who can't vote count in this way. In Texas, they managed to convert at least one swing district into Republican by gerrymandering and putting a prison there. The prison adds to the local population with nonvoters, so that a Republican district can be created. As long as our government provides any benefits or services to illegals, they should be counted just as prisoners are counted. It's actually a taxpayer rights issue. As long as states have to contend with the issue of illegal immigrants, we should be entitled to any appropriate tax dollars and other benefits. The interesting thing is that if MA gets its way, I wouldn't be surprised if the same approach benefited red states more than blue states.

What an interesting Catch 22 this is. More problems because of our addiction to federal tax $. In our junkie lust for fed money, we have to compromise our laws and the degree to which we "value" people whether they are illigal aliens, prisoners, or anyone else. It's like the drinking age. Sure it's a state's decision what the age is set at, but if you don't go to 21, you don't get the highway funding. Chase the carrot on the stick...SUCKAH!

Thank you Wistah.
To the rest, any questions?

Yes, but that's really a separate point. MA pols are dealing with the reality as it now is. And, as it now is, they want at least their share of federal dollars, which after all is our tax money (a disproportionate amount of which goes to states like Alaska, Virginia, and Maryland). To not pursue the money and influence that is derived from our population would be irresponsible.
