Wow, there are scumbags, and then there are scumbags, but this guy takes the cake.
Wow, I've seen some losers in my life, but this guy just catapulted to the top of the list. Talk about a total scumbag loser. I'm not a violent man by any stretch, and I do believe in free speech, but if this guy ever crossed my path, I'd punch him in the face. A contest to see how many American soldiers die. What a disgrace. I've been telling you guys that there are americans out there who want to see America fail. There are americans who are rooting for soldiers to die so they can point a finger at Bush, because they despise him so much. That's dispicable to me.

01.10.2007 Predict the Number of Troops Killed in the Next Year!
How many U.S. troops will be killed in Iraq in the next year?
Submit your best estimate here.
The Bush administration won't dare go public with such hard and somber calculations about expected casualties--which would help weigh the costs of this renewed war effort. So I figure conscientious HuffPo readers will step into that breach.
I'll keep track--our memories are long--and we'll notify the "winner" one year from today.
I'm not sure, however, what you'll win, or even if you could call it a victory. But Americans like to play to win, we've been told. And it doesn't take much of a sacrifice to ponder the possibility of someone else's death.

If he's trying to make a point about the number of casualties in Iraq, he certainly has a questionable way of doing it. But did you know that gambling on world events is becoming very popular? Betting houses were taking bets on when Saddam would be executed, bets on when the next terrorist attack would occur, how many people will die when certain hurricanes hit land, etc.

I too want to know what the final number will be because every single one of them needs to be flashed in front of Bush's face when he is backed up against the wall at Leavenworth just before the bullet explodes into his head during his LEGAL execution for TREASON.
Wait... "Exactly" sounds like you're agreeing with me, but I don't think we really agree: I don't like what this guy is doing, you see to be OK with it.

NEM, out of respect for you, I'll refrain from commenting any further. Your words here speak for themselves.

RW, i haven't been around this forum very long...
But could you, for the sake of future debate, please relay your overall justification for this occupation? Both in early 2003, as well as now? Thank you.

The socialist progressive liberals are winning, the "Old America" is dying, we will fall from the greatest nation on earth to nothing but a hateful f-cked up third world ***** hole.
One of the first things "The Vermin" will do is destroy the Constitution and all the History Books because they won't want their next generation of smelly sheep to know "What It Used To Be Like".
This body counter should be chained dragged through Arlington National Cemetery by an Army Jeep. I hope his f-cking bowels get eaten by worms while he is still alive.

I wasn't in favor of invasion in 2003. I understood it, and did see some validity to it. Not because of WMD's, or kill my daddy stuff, but for what it was, an attempt to democratize the ME. My brother is both a right wing nut, Airborne veteran, and history major. We'd discuss it everyday here at work. We both knew it was being done to bring democracy to a region that had been ruled through oppression and radical religious ideologies. When we'd debate action, my bro was gung-ho, and I was torn. What I'd always come back to when trying to figure out if we should or not, was the precedent we were setting in taking action. That the US was acting as an invader. I had real problems with that. Our historic involvement in wars has been to defend liberty, or threatened nations. This was no where near that, we were invading hands down. Of course, 9/11 did change things a bit. At least for some it did. Still, I didn't like the precedent. Plus, wars NEVER go the way you expect them to. Wars are unpredictable. Anyhow, once they opened the can of worms, I want to see it succeed. There is no denying that a stable democracy in the ME would do wonders for the region. It's clear to me that Iran and Syria would not want to see such a government succeed. Who'd listen to oppressive clerics when they could have a choice for representation? Anyhow, I want to see it work, although I know the job is not going to be easy.

What a POS, I'd punch him in the face too.
Its one thing to voice your dismay and anger over the war and even your hatred for all things government and Bush but to actually have a CONTEST and gloat over being the "winner" in terms of how many young men and women bravely give their lives for their nation?
Sick.
Debate the merits of the war all you want but dont EVER denigrate those who serve.

Like Korea, the Gulf War didn't end. Iraq did violate the terms of the armistice and that alone was enough to justify resuming hostilities.
Should we have, that's fodder for another thread. I just wanted to point out something that seems to get lost ever time "justification" comes up in discussion.

Oh... denigration? You mean like challenging the votes of thousands of African-American servicemen who were overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan? Or were you just referring to insufficient body armor? Or was it forced extended and additional tours of duty?
