But here's the problem - you didn't understand what I said. Perhaps it was my fault since I phrased it poorly so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. It's easy to sit in your ivory tower and criticize but it 60+ years after the fact.

Although now it is perfectly legal to discriminate against white men in our society, so I guess that is an institutional shortcoming still among us.

You said hundreds of years. I limited it to the last 100 years. ALL are attributable to institutions within America. If you don't think the military industrial Complex is an institution in this country you need to have your head examined. Not to mention the recording industry. (p-s-s-s-t! That was a joke. I have never opined about the Pope, whether or not I admire him, or any thoughts whatsoever. Furthermore, I am not saying you are an ignorant and bigoted moron, but only a ignorant and bigoted moron calls the Pope a Nazi.
