I know this was addressed to Patters, but if nobody minds, I'll take a crack at it.

In 1991 I was a struggling college student. My folks did the best they could but the money was not there. I had just about given up hope at being able to graduate from the private school I was attending and had planned to drop out and perhaps investigate UMass or something. Then Clinton came along and Pell grants and Stafford loans stopped being the pathetically small things they were under Bush I. All of a sudden I could focus on making grades and not money while in school and I graduated. Bush II has returned the financial situation to how it stood before Clinton.

Yeah, I'm a WASP without the P. So I won't call myself a minority; but economic freedom and the freedom to learn are important, and I was quite definitely a 'have not' under Bush I and a 'have' under Clinton.

you mean like how clear he's been about giving the military commanders control?

Quote:
Bush has repeatedly insisted that troop levels were determined by military commanders. A year ago, Bush said he would not raise troop levels because the “commanders tell me they have the number of troops they need to do their job.” “As we determine the right force level,” Bush said, “our troops can know that I will continue to be guided by the advice that matters: the sober judgment of our military leaders.”
or his insistance that they never said "stay the course?"...

or was it the part where they insisted they would not reveal body count, only to lean on it 3-4 weeks ago?

clear about Katrina? clear about surveillance? clear about energy policy?

are you kidding us? this is the most secretive and UNCLEAR regime since Nixon.... not surprisingly, the two men pulling the strings were Nixon acolytes... Tricky Dick Jr., and Ronald Dumsfeld...

Bush is the best thing that has happened to the Democratic Party in a long time, keep flip flopping, keep talking and keep making stupid decisions.. we can't stop you, but the impact he is having on the voters of America is significant.

Don't just skip 'em. Every now and again there's something insightful instead of inciteful in one of Harry's bloated posts. Figure on roughly 1 in 6 bein' worth your time.

Unfortunately, his god awful decisions have us all swirling around the toilet together, Dems Republicans and Independants.

As they say "its a big poo-poo sandwich and we all have to take a bite"

Except the uber-rich, of course, they get a tax cut. And the military industrial war profiteers...they get subsidized corporate welfare for the indefinite future.

But the rest of america, dig in your heels and get ready to sacrifice.

I've got my views about Katrina, and if I put them forth, most of you will attack me as a racist. Such is the ultra PC world we live in today. I wouldn't defend Bush's response to Katrina, nor would I blame him the way the press & public have. Of course, most in here believe that the government should take care of them so....

Bush was very clear about survelience. He backed it. What is unclear abuot his postion on that? BTW, that would fall under TWAT. The War Again Terror.

He's very clear about Energy policy. He doesn't have one.

Bush is a polarizing figure because you know where he stands on issues. That is my point. Whether or not you agree with his positions is your own business. I do on some, don't on others.
