patsfan13, why do you keep giving a free pass to Crane, Livingstone, and Harding (the Teapot Dome scandal)? You're trying to compare past events with current events. We cannot right the wrongs of the past, but we must address the problems that are currently taking place. The Dems appear to be a fairly clean party at this point in time, while the Repugs are proving the adage: Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely

According to the Washington Post, at least one of the pages who received suggestive IMs was 17; I posted a link a few days ago but don't have time now to locate it.

Where do I give a pass to anyone? Can you cite where I absolve any pubbie of guilt for bad behavior? I just respond to the nonsense where pubbies are presented as the only poeple who engage in bad behavior. I also point out that there is a double atandard where pubbies are held accountable and dems are not, either by the dems or the media.

For example Livbingstone lost his job and congressional seat for an extramarital affair (not with a minor) where Clinton is lauded even though he was getting Bj's from an intern was alleged to have raped Juanita Brodderick, and Tek K of course got away with manslaughter (at the least) in the death of Mary JO and he is lauded as a great public servant by the demmies.

I enjoy poking fun at the hypocracy of the dems in these matters.

It is pretty ******* sick to read these threads about a dead man, we pride ourselves as being vanguards of this nation which tends to be christian, there is pride amongst the right which espouses family values.. however, are very quick to take the role of the almighty and judge the dead and politicize him. There is no honor or dignity in taking that stand, he will be judged by a higher authority.

He is dead, pure and simple, he abused his authority and was not a good man in anyone's mind, but as I said before what was going on in 1983 was a much different standard than what goes on in 2006. The standards and values have changed, thank god, and we are better for it.
