Default Could this be why the Senate gets nothing done....

Congress seems to have the least favorable rating of anyone currently running this Gov't... now the Foley e-mail foray, which will probably cause them more harm and credibility.. Arlen Specter last week talked about the work schedule of the Senate at a National Press Club Luncheon..

http://townhall.com/columnists/colum...30/2006&page=2

Sen. Arlen Specter, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, last Monday delivered an unusually candid assessment of the Senate's notoriously light work schedule.

In a National Press Club luncheon speech, Specter noted it was "very hard to convene a Monday morning hearing" because of extended weekends. He continued: "We've fallen into a routine . . . of starting our workweek Tuesday at 2:15 after we finish our caucus luncheons, and people start to get edgy and heading for the airports early on Thursday. So we might increase the workweek by 50 percent, say, to three days."

Realizing it was highly unusual for a senior senator to talk so frankly of the chamber's work habits, Specter quickly added with a smile: "By the way, that's off the record." The speech was broadcast live on C-SPAN

I agree with you on this one 15,
I have said many times that "ALL" politicians are people that I would never want in my home or near my dog.

A third party will do no good, then all we would have is "three" partys of scum.

The only solution, hold your nose when you vote or don't vote at all. Many would say "it's your duty to vote" to that I say "bull*****", if I despise each candidate, why the hell should I vote for one of them.

Since I left the democratic party I have held my nose many times, the old time democrat is gone, the "Social Politically Correct Liberal Screwballs" have taken the party over if they come into power during this "terror war" America is in big trouble, "they still don't get it" well organized, intelligent, dedicated SAVAGES are trying to KILL US and all the "Social Democrats" worry about is their Politically Correct ***** and some drug dealer having their Phone Tapped.

Hold your nose when you vote, when a grinning politician hands you his card in front of a supermarket grin back and say "f-ck you".

The last thing I want is the current bunch of legislators working more. I'll reconsider this topic after November though

Since the goverment generally produce more goverment to justify their jobs, the less they do the better. They should meet for about 45 days/year then go home and get a real job.

What a shocking revelation. Our politicians don't work. Amazing. I wonder how they still manage to get things to run so efficiently? Who cares then I guess. Why ask them to work more than 1 day a week since things are running so smoothly? If it ain't broke, don't fix it right?

Maybe we should give them a raise.
