COLUMBIA, S.C. (Aug. 13) -- Longshot U.S. Senate candidate Alvin Greene was indicted Friday on two charges, including a felony charge of showing pornography to a South Carolina college student.

A Richland County grand jury indicted Greene for disseminating, procuring or promoting obscenity - a felony - as well as a misdemeanor charge of communicating obscene materials to a person without consent.

I'll leave the Mrs. to respond to your question to the Mrs., but I'm not exactly sure what the "southern twang" is supposed to signify here.

Does that mean you're saying she's saying she's mocking southern states? Or is that you associating a southern twang with racism? Or what?

Seriously I just don't get the implication, spell it out, will ya?

As to Greene, here's my response for my part:

- He started out a weak candidate, and nobody would be surprised to find that his primary victory was engineered by the Republicans, by voting in droves for a weaker Dem primary candidate.

He polled heavily from Republican strongholds - from people, in short, who will vote R in the general election.

- He already had pending legal action against him; that was a part of his weakness as a candidate

- Evidently, he's got more against him now, stemming from a charge that got rolling the day after the primary

And you're convinced it's about... race?
