Because thier hatred of Bush has so blinded them, that I'm sure libs secretly cheer everytime another Soldier gets killed, they throw parties when Homeland security gets funding cuts, they call all thier friends anytime OBL releases a tape. They love it every time a lib democrat gets up there and embarrases our nation by openly promoting socialism. Did I miss anything?

Yes, common sense, decency, depth, education beyond 6th grade, slightest understanding of what a liberal is or what patriotism is, are what come to mind. Did I miss anything?

Who do you think makes the cuts for DHS? The Democrat controlled COngress? The Democratic administration? The liberal press?

No one on this board cheers when a soldier gets killed. I know you get a hard-on when Mikey posts the deaths of our guys because you get to call him a terrorist. You started a bit early drinking today, don't you think?

This is the same old crap that the left spews about the rights, except now its the right spewing it about the left. As a Republican I do not believe for one moment that the left wants another 9/11 or more people killed from another terrorist attack here or anywhere in the US.

What I see are the differences on how that is prevented. The left has their way/method/beliefs on how we can best defend ourselves while the right has their way/method/beliefs on how we can best defend ourselves. The left tends to be more "true" to the spirit of the constitution and respecting everyone's "rights" whereas the right tends to want to take liberties with those "rights" of certain citizens in order to protect the rest.

I have to admit I fall in the camp that has no problem with profiling muslims and tapping their phone calls (or any means of electronic surveilence) where there is probable cause. I believe the ends justifies the means in this case since "the ends" in this case is the saving of human life. We know that muslim's (mostly males form the ages of 18 to 50) have vowed jihad against us, thus that is who we should be focusing on in this country. If the muslim community has an issue with this then all I can say is too bad. Point out the radicals among your citizens, those teaching radicalism and those learning it and then the focus will no longer be on those who want to be simple peace loving citizens. Until that starts to happen you are all suspect, if not as active members, then as aiders and abbetors.

Very thoughtful post. I agree with a lot of it. The problem is in defining what is left and right. Adherence to the principles of the Constitution is the most important part of being an American. Without that, we are just like every other country that does what is easy and convenient. Adherence to the Law is conservative. Breaking the Law or warping it beyond recognition is radical and wrong, in my opinion.

Another problem I have is suggesting that it's OK to set one American against another. What if one Muslim wants another to "go away"? A good way to do that would be to point him out to the government and plant a bunch of "eveidence" against him.
