Default The Heritage Foundation

I'm surprised a fellow poster continues to contribute to the Heritage Foundation. It seems possible that they have their own source of contributions direct from the US Taxpayer, via that black hole that is Iraq appropriations. After all, they did stock the new Iraq with a bunch of unqualified Bush shills.

Quote:
Some of the corruption grew out of the misguided neoconservative agenda for Iraq, which meant that a serious reconstruction effort came second to doling out the spoils to the war’s most fervent supporters. The CPA brought in scores of bright, young true believers who were nearly universally unqualified. Many were recruited through the Heritage Foundation website, where they had posted their résumés. They were paid six-figure salaries out of Iraqi funds, and most served in 90-day rotations before returning home with their war stories. One such volunteer was Simone Ledeen, daughter of leading neoconservative Michael Ledeen. Unable to communicate in Arabic and with no relevant experience or appropriate educational training, she nevertheless became a senior advisor for northern Iraq at the Ministry of Finance in Baghdad. Another was former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer’s older brother Michael who, though utterly unqualified, was named director of private-sector development for all of Iraq.

So, do we really care what their take is on minimum wage or anything else for that matter??

These people must be among the elite. They make six figures and don't even get shot at while working in Iraq.

I wonder if our armed forces there feel underpaid? Perhaps, they too are hacks like firefighters and teachers, eh Ted?

Oh those lazy construction workers. They made out like bandits on the big dig while the corporate offices of Bechtel were scrounging from day to day to scrape pennies together for bread.

Thats the same Bechtel that screwed the Iraqi people out of billions by the way.

Im sure that makes the 'cons' proud. The way they manage to rob from the poor to pay for their golfing in Scotland with Jack Abramoff and his clan while the GOP led congress turns a blind eye.

Congress was more than happy to raise their own wages.

No comment from the right about the hiring of shills from the Heritage Foundation website? Is that sound policy for success in Iraq? Get a bunch of rump swabs who dont know arabic to go in and play cards in Saddams palace for 100K a year while our troops are protecting their butts and dodging IEDs?

I'll bet 90% of the hires were college Republicans.
