Now, dont get me wrong. He was guilty of many things, IMO, but in this particular trial, I dont believe they proved that he was gujilty of the crime they are accusing him of doing. From all that I read, and heard, they had no witnesses and no evidence to convict him. IMO, of course.
But, assuming they dont convict him, he is then free, and he can do one of two things.... attempt to re claim the presidency, saying that the current Iraqi Government is illegal, under Iraqi law..... or ....wait till next year's election and run for President...
In either case, I believe he will be the next President of Iraq.
Like I said, he had done lmany bad things, in the past, which I dont believe he would do again...and he has paid dearly with the lives of his two sons.....
But If he becomes President, I cant wait to hear what the vil bastard Bush has to say about it.
Would it not be ironic if Saddam becomes President and Bush ends up in Leavenworth. Fitting, I say, as far as Bush goes.

It's a monkey trial, NEM, he isn't going to be acquitted. His only valid argument is be the lack of the tribunal's legitimacy, but the court won't entertain that argument.
