I'll bet BB would be a lousy college coach....

Wait a minute... we better get back to the thread before this gets bumped to the football board!

I think there are tens of millions of Americans who would not like the idea of being used this way by George Bush and his PR people. I, for one, admire Saban and I'll bet a lot of others do as well.
no ... of course President Bush doesnt need nick saban's advice on war. what bush needs is our enemy to see Americans united and our president relaxing with the common people. like him/hate him but he's the President and Americans have to stand behind him yntil they vote for someone else. miami needed saban to be there to give their team exposure. they had other reps there like marino so its less important for miami than for America, but for cryin out loud saban is a ******* American........at least so i thought. hopefully homeland security will delay a few of his flights this year a few hours to give mr saban some time to think about what it means to be there for the President of the United States of America, the greatest nation on GOD'S Green Earth.

Why would someone who thinks the president is immoral, as well as destructive to our nation's interest, stand behind him? I'm not saying Saban thinks that, but many people do, and we think the country is better off if Bush is weak.

Forget about Saban having something better to do.
Doesn't the Chimp have something better to do?...Like wash Rummy's laundry or something?...Or maybe he should be working on figuring out how to actually be the President of the United States!

He's not the friggin king fakrissakes! He's a public servant. He's got work to do, and he doesn't need to be summoning his "subjects" to the palace for some idiotic photo op. Get to work, Chimp!

If you mean why what he invited, the event was Miami related, held at a connected Miami restaurant. He's the skipper down there. Bush wants to be seen as liking football because it's American (though according to Hunter S. Thompson, Bush "hates music, football and sex, in no particular order, and he is no fun at all").

But you have to figure a guy who Bill Belichick admires as one of his favorite modern coaches probably knows a thing or two about football.

Because the sore loser Bush Haters want to tell the world that he refused to visit the White House, he now becomes a liberals Martyr.
Sean Penn may even make a Movie about him.

BB could step into the presidency and outdo the Chimp immediately. Heck, we know he loves football, he loves music (Bon Jovi) and he even appears to have the womanizing thing down (the babe in New Jersey).
