Can we all please drop the words "activist judge" from our vocabulary? I've never heard a more political word with less actual meaning. We get it, judges are activist when they rule against us and very judicious when they rule in our favor.

Mikey the Mortician started a thread that Uncle Teddy wrote, Clinton isn't in on this one but I'll think of something (he's cute when he bites his lip)

Some of the most brilliants people in history were not perfect role models, so your response just shows your desire to avoid an intelligent discussion.

It's not sour grapes. Obviously, the Bush administration is adept at manipulating the processes through the art of deceit. It's unfortunate that the Republicans have made our system more corrupt, and that so few Republicans are willing to stand up for what is right.

How many of American history's great leaders directly caused the death of an innocent girl because of extreme inebriation...? Then compounded their guilt by refusing to take responsibility for their actions, all the while doing everything they could to salvage their political career..? I guess as long as a guy votes the Democratic party line, you don't see that as a character flaw.

I am not going to engage in a defense or a discussion on the judges in question because, as I noted before, there's absolutely no defense needed. I wear his contempt as a badge of honor.

You guys shake your head in disbelief...like what did you expect.

This Court will get us closer to the Constitution biggest hypocrite subject of them all.

Bush has 2 years left... and/or gets a sudden case of dementia and needs to be replaced...then the fun begins...rid ourselves of all the laws that have been added in violation of our Constitution.

I don't see it as having much bearing on his intellect. Is he an opportunist? Yes. Are you really so naive as to believe that our politicians don't try to cover their tracks? Bush was an alcoholic and drug user, may have been AWOL from the military, and may have made his money in sweethearts deals. Why doesn't that concern you more?

Nah, you're just a hypocrite who's unwilling to talk about the merits of what Kennedy wrote.

Nah, you're just a hypocrite who's unwilling to talk about the merits of what Kennedy wrote.
The fact is the dems started poisioning the USSC nominating process with the Bork nomination. They have taken it further through the unpresicented use of the fillibuster to prevent qualified nominees from receiving a vote on the floor.

Ginsburg was the first nominee to use the 'no comment, because I will have to rule on it' approach in confirmation hearings. Ted K had no problem when she used it, indeed he hailed her for remaining 'impartial'. Now when presumed conservatives use the very same approach in the hearings... well now Teddy deicdes it a lie.

How Transparent.

How Hypotcritical.

How Liberal.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

Oh, well if you want to start talking about his intellect, let's just say he makes Bush look like a Rhodes Scholar. This is an actual Kennedy quote: "Let's help make Bill Clinton the next prezifiz of the ossifozz." Or, better yet, "Mike McGwire and Sammy Sooser"...

Oh, there's a surprise... A liberal brings up George Bush into a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with him.

Unfortunately, there is no merit in what Kennedy wrote. He's just a liberal lion in deep winter about 40 years removed from his glory days.
