The gasoline price rise is happening on Bush's watch... and that is the main reason...
But, it is being caused by two things...
1: Greed of the oil companies, and the Bush administrations ties to US Oil.
2" Bush's incursion , as an infidel, on Muslim soil.... and the destabilization of the middle east.
No matter what they say about our dependence on foreign oil, it is still our own olil companies who are screwing the American public, and as we all have notice, Bush has not said hardly a word about it...and why should he, his family, his friends, his cronies are all getting wealthy off of you, me and the rest of the brainwashed arseholes who elected him.
I agree to a point. Clearly, Bush's ties to Big Oil influence the foreign policy of the US. The rhetoric about terrorism and freedom for the ME is a bunch of bulls--t. Transformation is in the plan, for sure, but it will be one more like a change to the past that Bush is looking for where despodic governments like Iran under the Shah who are more easily manipulated by means of corruption and bribery (not to mention weapons sales) to favor the US.
IMO, the most arrogant and brazen aspect of the Bush Admin. is how he continues to cater to oil company interests while he is president. Everything he does and doesn't do is related to securing profits for corporate interests, especially Big Oil. The conflict of interest is obvious and deadly to American interests.
Oil prices had to rise, though. They have been artificially depressed for decades compared to prices in other parts of the world besides the ME. Bush certainly profits from the share prices of oil companies he and his pasty-faced henchmen profit from directly or indirectly.
His actions are well known. His inactions are what may be the most dangerous. A complete lack of energy policy is going to ruin this country in 30 years. He has squandered his presidency of 6 years and will likely waste the last two as well. There have been no advances on scientific research and development of existing alternative energy sources since the attack in the WTC. I assumed that there would be more nuclear power plants being built to replace the fossil fuel plants that will be obsolete in 30 years. That's not a lot of time.
In 30 years, Bush will be dead, wealthy beyond his wildest dreams, but dead. The table he has set will hurt this country immeasurably, and following presidents will likely screw things up as well unless we can find an Ike or FDR soon.
I was waiting for that thread to re-surface. I hoped against hope that it would take off, but there wasn't enough emotional vitriol associated with it.
Just in case you forgot who he is, and your all wrapped up in Iraq, think southern Border...And ''think'' Bin laden is just a planner! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhBP5...Joe%20Cornish%
Just because there have been no attacks on america since 911, doesn't mean they are not planning ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
