Some House Democrats are circulating a letter urging Speaker Dennis Hastert to cancel the Iraqi prime minister's speech in front of a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, since he and other Iraqi leaders have denounced Israel's bombing of Lebanon.
The letter originated with Illinois's Rahm Emanuel, who heads up the House Democrats' political campaign committee. It claims Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's call for an end to Israeli aggression directly conflicts with the U.S. position, saying, "we are unaware of any prior instance where a world leader who actively worked against the interests of the United States was afforded such an honor."
So far, at least two other Democrats have signed on to the letter, which also accuses Maliki of supporting Hezbollah and being unduly influenced by Iran

Re: Democrat Dennis Hastert wants Iraqi Prime Minister's Congress Speach Canceled.
D Hastert is a Congressman not a Senator and he is a Republican.
"Some guys play in all-star games, some guys don't. I don't know who picks all those all-star teams. In all honesty, I don't know who picks the combine, for that matter," Belichick said. "How does (Miami-Ohio offensive lineman Brandon) Brooks not get invited to the combine? How did Vollmer not get invited to the combine? I don't know. We can't really worry about that. We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
