The high school analogy isn't a bad one. It's not uncommon for seniors to date sophomores these days. My problem is that he's college aged and should have known better.
The summer after my freshman year in college I had a chance to hook up with a 16-year-old. I was 20, but I knew, no matter how tempting it was, it was a bad idea.
Girls that age are about one step away from being mental patients anyway with all the hormones. All of the sudden her mommy reads her diary and the next thing you know there's a cop, or worse yet, an angry papa bear, at my door. No thanks.
So yes, if she was 16 and he's 20 and it was consentual then he's probably only guilty of being incredibly stupid. But if it turned out that she was 11 or 12, well that's a whole new realm.
