There is a small scale political civil war going on at this time in the greater Baghdad area. Hopefully they can reign it in. It resembles the gangster wars we witnessed here a long time ago. You kill 5 so we kill 5 attitude.

If it spreads to the general population...we could be there longer. This is what I don't get. If they want us out of there then get peacefull...it would help because then Bush would have no excuse to stay.

Why did the Republicans vote against the ban of permanent bases in Iraq unless....they knew there were plans for them..or??

Its no secret that permanent bases have been built. My guess is that their funding came from reconstruction funds, but I cannot prove that.

Looking at the reconstruction of Iraq, are those funds now done with??
