Default The Secret War vs North Korea

The story behind the story as it's the world vs Poon-The-Gang.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...261782,00.html

Wahhhh...Poony is mad at everyone but refuses to find middle ground himself. Well, now we know why the rocket went deep-6. Poony must be trying to make his own fuel....sorry Poony, breaking off match heads won't work.

Here is a country that is totally dependant on the world for it's survival. They have nothing...anyone who sticks up for this guy is nuts...IF HE CARED ABOUT HIS PEOPLE HE WOULD FIND COMMON GROUND AND BE HAPPY ABOUT HIS PEOPLE BEING HAPPY.

Even South Korea feels bad for North Korea...what does that tell you?

In a perfect world...Poony would be assasinated by his own people and a leader would arise that cares for the people. Communism is flawed...but democracy is flawed also. With the worlds help they could keep their communist government and take care of the people.

It's a sad state of affairs in the world when every country that has problems is failing to care for the people.

Valid proof that every government needs some measure of liberalism. We tease the liberals (myself included) but when it comes to the social needs for liberalism(which I support), many governments are dropping the ball.

West mounts 'secret war' to keep nuclear North Korea in check
Michael Sheridan, Far East Correspondent

A PROGRAMME of covert action against nuclear and missile traffic to North Korea and Iran is to be intensified after last week’s missile tests by the North Korean regime.
Intelligence agencies, navies and air forces from at least 13 nations are quietly co-operating in a “secret war” against Pyongyang and Tehran.

It has so far involved interceptions of North Korean ships at sea, US agents prowling the waterfronts in Taiwan, multinational naval and air surveillance missions out of Singapore, investigators poring over the books of dubious banks in the former Portuguese colony of Macau and a fleet of planes and ships eavesdropping on the “hermit kingdom” in the waters north of Japan.

What people need is economic freedom (property rights), followed by political rights. If those conditions are allowed to exist the liberal solutions administered are less important.

As a communist Kim's last concern is the welfare of the people of the country. His only concern is his own and the party's welfare.

Yes...and what the solutions are is anyones guess. It seems he wants the handouts and he wants to run his country as he sees fit. He doesn't seem to get the people part for some reason.

Not that it would ever happen..but Korea is a country that should not be split in 2. all the resources are in the south...the North is useless. But again...making 1 Korea is not the affair of anyone but Koreans.

IMO the South Koreans are somewhat fearful of full reunification, N Korea is such a basket case it could damage them severely. Look at the problems W Germany had trying to take in the basket case of East Germany (and E Germany was supposed to be the most successful of the communits E Europe), the PDRK is in much worse shap than E Germany.

That's true, but re-unification is necessary for both Koreas to finally relax and get the 800 lb gorilla out of the living room. It may be tough, but long term dividends are clearly available. The N Korean leader who proposes this will be a hero for 100 years in Korea. The Psyche of both countries is dysfunctional because of the separation. Look at how much North and South Carolina have sufferred since their division.
