Actually they didn't release it, it was a 'leak' irresponsibly printed by the press. The jerks in the press managed to upset an ongoing investigation and make Foreign Security services less likely to work with us. The FBI guy at the news conf was Pi***d about it.
A lot of the operations shouldn't be made public. But the press doesn't give a **** about our security.
Congrats for the ongoing work by the people keeping us safe.

That's of course good news. I heard on the radio that they were tracked down through internet chat rooms. If that's true, then it goes to show you that we don't need to trample on the Constitution and our rights in order to hunt down terrorists. Of course, we'll have to wait for more news.
As far as the New York Times goes, my guess is FTW posted an early morning edition cover, printed before the story broke. The story now appears on the NYT home page.
