Even though his service was a joke, a complete chirade, his handlers still had the audacity to use it to project him as a friend of the military. One that easily comes to mind is the landing on the carrier to announce "Mission Accomplished" so many years ago. He was wearing a military flight suit and "co-pilotiing" a very expensive military fighter jet. My guess is the first thing the real pilot said to him was, "OK, Mr. President, just sit back and enjoy the ride, and whatever you do, DON"T TOUCH ANYTHING!". He's very good at sitting back and enjoying the ride.
