Unless he knows nothing about the Civil Rights movement, he should certainly know of all the racial connotations that are associated with the phrase "back of the bus." The comment would be offensive from anyone, but doubly so coming from him. No one should want anyone ever again to be forced to ride at the back of the bus.

Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, wearing a red baseball cap emblazoned with the words "Fire Pelosi," invited Republicans to join him on a "Fire Nancy Pelosi bus tour" Friday.

During remarks at the summer meeting of the RNC in Kansas City, Steele announced that the 6-week tour would commence after Labor Day.

Rallying the GOP to win in November and urging supporters to "get on the bus," Steele capped off his call to action by predicting that "Nancy Pelosi will be in the back of the bus."

I think a 2 party system is better than a 1 party system.

However as long as Steele heads the republican party the democrats have nothing to fear.

Would the republicans be better off with Joe the Plumber as it's head?

If the choice was Joe or Steele I think Steele is out.

Has anyone yet told Steele he is the token black of the party?
