ballwashers and rumpswabs... he was a good grade "B" actor, but his presidency is scrutinized... he promised that his tax cuts would lead to a "trickle down" benefit for all.. every day I check my mail, but nothing happens..

He botched the response to Hezbollah, after they blew up a Marine Barracks and killed 241... as he did nothing, some believe that this emboldened Hezbollah and inspired more terrorism..

He negotiated with the Iranians prior to be inaugarated, which is a very serious offense.. why negotiate with Carter, when they can negotiate with Reagan??.. The famous "October Surprise".. which did some backchannel negotiations with Iran in July and August prior to the election, effectively delaying their release for a great photo op.. never can get over this...

"Mr. Gorbachev, please tear down this wall".. was a classic photo op on the eve of the collapse of the Soviet Union..

Then the whole "Iran Contra Affair".. which in today's blogosphere would probably lead to very serious calls for impeachment..

The whole "WWRD What Would Reagan Do" mantra is beginning to be played out in this years election cycle, the easy answer is to make it into a Hollywood Production... and do not play by any rules..

A few days ago a couple of former KGB agents were asked what they thought about Reagan in general and the Berlin wall speech in particular, they said. Not to much he WAS an actor after all. So the Soviets had the same perception of Reagan that i did......That he was an actor playing a roll POTUS.

The reality is that if Reagan was prez during this time, several of his shenanigans would have been impeachable.. but you claim that he was a far more successful president, based on what right wing lies and hyperbole.. study the facts and get back to us..

Obama has already dethroned Jimmy Carter as the worst president the country has ever had.

Reagan wasn't perfect but he makes Obama look like the kid that empty's waste baskets in City Hall.

Well, Newsweek why didn't you ask what Truman would have done or Kennedy? Talk about deflection and buck passing. I guess I can understand it though. You can only point fingers at the Bush's for excuses so long before people get wise to that shtick but didn't they know we'd figure this latest one out too?

Why did we allow him to get a free ride for negotiating with Iran, in July/August before elected??.. Isn't that some type of constitutional infraction?? That was such a grandstand event, the day after inaugarated they were released.. what a coincidink that was

Contend that the the whole Iran/Contra thing if happened today, it would have led to impeachment.. at that time many were still lemmings and the court of public opinion could not weigh in.. instead its principal, Oliver North, is a leader in the conservative network.. he should be in Leavenworth..
