Default Government Proposing Internet Kill Switch

I don't usually contribute, but I'd love to read the reactions (pros & cons) to this:

This sounds like a horrible idea, and very dangerous.

As the days go by...it seems more and mor like George W. Bush never left office, he's just wearing the skin of a Kenyan born guy, with a fake birth certificate...

On the real.....Out here in SF, we have the wi-fi set up for emergency response. A system like this in place for an event like 9-11 would've helped response time, and coordination of police, fire, and government.

However...there is that DARK side of this, which is the fantastic side to glimpse on...the eavesdropping, the ability to look into your bank account and medical records....the ability to tap your phone...

Oh, they are already doing all that....and have been since at least 2000?

Take away their You-tube, Message boards...internet-porn...and twitter, and we might actually have a revolution.

I dare the government to do this.

Nothing in that article convinced me that this power is necessary for the President to do his job.

Welcome to Obama's America. If this were a Republican President, the MSM would be rioting in the streets. But with a liberal, well it's ok!

I think this is necessary to prevent Skynet from coming online.

Been reading about this, I think its not a big deal for the avg American but I don't think that ONE man should have to power to cut off the net.

More and more its starting to be like the book "1984" total control.....pretty scary stuff. I don't mind the government protecting its people but I don't think its should be just one man doing it or one branch of government.

I like what Benjamin Franklin said " He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither"
