I would like to make something very clear. the gulf states are experiencing a undeniable tragedy. Millions of jobs will be lost and it will impact our economy.

But the true tragedy is that these animals rely on us, and we have let them down, as good stewards. We rule this earth, and it is understood that with that comes some responsibility. Many animals, when cleaned, will migrate to the same oil which we saved them from .

As an example of our negligence, 65 million dogs are helped by our government only 18% are adopted, the rest are killed. For what ever reason this is to high.
please go to the animal shelter and get a dog,cat, even if its 8 years old.

If we are to be a great people and rule this earth, we need to start caring about those that can not care for themselves. We need to have compassion.

We as a people don't need forest, sky, or wildlife. We can live in a contained environment, like a cubicle or office building, as long as we have oxygen we are ok.
We can waste this place. Is that what we want? because profits dictate they don't give a damn.

But I do hope that is not were the indifference is headed. I do believe that all of us will be represented in history, not as what we say we are, but as we do. Those that are defenseless and unknowing ( as these animals are) have no recourse and will surely die until we change how much we care for them in or our day to day life.

New Orleans and the people of the Gulf states will be decimated by this spill, we know that now, but what we also have come to realize is we are not the story, the destruction to our people and way of life is not the problem. The true story is the hundreds of thousands of sea life that trusted us to protect them, and we are unable or unwilling to help them.
