When Bush was in office, an "insider" told me that there was mass dismantling of protections and regulations, that person has since told me that one of the issues behind the BP disaster is that when this adm. tried to regulate it, most of the regulations favored BP or had been shytcanned...

Reminds me of the factoid that the Bankruptcy Bill passed in 2005, was actually written by Providien...

And Obama, who got loads of BP dollars, let everything slide on by as well. This is a problem with politicians in general and corruption in government.

I don't think anyone "misses" Bush. I do think people are incredibly underwhelmed by Obama. What else did people expect from someone with zero management experience.

Obama has had an incredibly productive first term. Probably will be the most so since LBJ.

I don't know how you could miss Bush unless you suffer from amnesia.

I'm sure the "27%ers" (I miss PC), thought Bush had a very productive couple of terms too. If pouring napalm on GW's BBQ'd budget is productive, then you're absolutely right.

True. Bush did manage in his first term to enact policies that are responsible for the lion's share of the current budget deficit.

As for Obama "pouring napalm on GW's BBQ'd budget," I simply disagree. And we'll leave it at that.

First of all he got 70K... in today's world that is not a lot, last year BP spent 15.9 million lobbying, so there was a lot of cash spread around..

Secondly you cannot regulate, something if there are no regulations...

What presidents have had management experience??.. guess it depends on that definition..

Lyndon Johnson.. career politician.. not bad got some stuff done, but Viet Nam did him in..

Richard Nixon.. career politician.. no comment

Gerald Ford.. career politician.. not much here

Carter governor of Georgia.. too many f..uckups to list here..

Reagan was governor of California.. Iran Contra & Amnesty for illegals..

George H. Bush.. career politician.. not bad, but could have taken out Saddam, backed off

Bill Clinton.. governor of Arkansas.. some good stuff

George W. Bush... difficult to categorize.. Iraq debacle, the rest is too early to tell..

Obama.. Senator..

Do not see a lot of "management experience" in any of the above...

It's not his management experience or lack thereof, it's his politics put into practice. He's a closet Republican while all the ninnies are screaming Socialist. That and he's yet another president who's too closely ties to corporations.
