It was a quote in The Boston Globe that caught a lot of people's attention. Now, it turns out that it even caught the attention of the president of the United States at the White House early this yar, causing him to grab an aide's shirt and exclaim in dismay.
Jonathan Alter, in his new book, "The Promise: President Obama, Year One," writes that when aide David Axelrod told him that Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Martha Coakley had said those words, Obama reached out and grabbed his shirt.
"No! No! You're making that up! That can't be right! Tell me she didn't say that!" the president said, tossing in a few obscenities, according to Alter.

My dead goldfish knew she was an idiot after the Schilling comments...
Re: Even Obama Realized Coakley Was A Complete Moron
I've stated that Coakley was a moron and a horrible candidate for some time now. This is nothing new, and particularly why I said this shouldn't be looked at as a referendum on Obama, health care reform, etc.

Actually the quote would have made a lot of sense if the Winter Classic hadn't been at Fenway this year. There's generally not a lot happening at Fenway in January.
Damn you NHL!!!

That's what the quote was specifically referring to. She was challenged on her campaign being out of touch, etc, and the fact that Brown was at that event "standing in the cold shaking hands" and got some good publicity out of it was what precipitated her remark in the first place.
