No, I never absolved Tomase. Tomase deserves his share of the blame. But all the hatred went towards him and none to the Times. People called for boycotts of the Herald and relished in reports of the Herald's finacial woes. Just for fair and balanced I did the same for the Times and got flamed.

I think Tomase was a huge contributor in the mess, but most people believe it was all his fault and without him Matt Walsh would never have ever been known. I am just pointing out that Specter and the NY Times were the catalyst in all this mess and deserve as much or more of the ire that Tomase got.

As for ESPN, I have blasted Mike Fish and ESPN numerous times for the lack of journalistic integrity in that story. Just because they were scooped by the times, they decided to scrap one of the first rules of journalism and ran a piece where a personal claimed a very damaging accusation against a person or a company without verifying what evidence he had or even if the evidence even existed. What they did is if one of crazy Birthers claimed he had proof that Obama was not born in the United States, but refused to show it to anyone and the media ran with it saying that there is proof that Obama is not a US citizen.
